5 hours after delivery in our room..

omg omg omg... will it be TONIGHT?

another contraction coming up!!
the last few hours had been exceedingly uncomfortable..
my back was killing me (cramps).. i was almost breaking out into cold sweat.
my last contraction was like 10mins.. and has been coming at a regular rate.
there's just so much pressure down below...
*gasps*
is this the onset of Stage 1, Phase 2 of labour???

I just bet i'm at least 3cm dilated.. like i'm a doc.. haha

Zack is so excited he is now packing the stroller and infant car seat into the car.
i'm putting all the toiletries in the hospital bag.. its fulll!
i need another bag!!!
Zack asked me to use my mummy bag..
but i'm not keen on it.
i dun want it to get dirty or worse... lost in the chaos!!!

so will things slow down?
maybe i should go rest and rule out braxton hicks.

i'm so sleepy....

......but i cant sleep :(

getting increasingly uncomfortable physically
+ excitement of seeing my little darling
+ anxiety of labour
= Insomnia

I need sleep now, gotta prep myself up for labour and the upcoming sleepless nights.

Nothing's happening yet.
Contractions were lesser ydae but Megan sure was active.
Somehow it seems like i'd not go into labour naturally.
i'm not too psych to get my water broken, heard it hurts :S
Nvm, i shall get Zack to take me out for long walk today..
we can go to the new park at Buangkok.. can part tow at the same time ;)

38 weeks today: OMG..... It's almost time!!!!

We had our ob appointment this evening and John Tee was going to do a cervical dilation check.

Guess what?!

I'm already 2.5cm dilated and 70% effaced!!!
(you need to be 10cm dilated and 100% effaced to reach stage 2 of labour - the pushing stage)

So it's really anytime now. John Tee said most likely the next few days, during the weekend. For awhile he said Friday and i was like..."that's tomorrow!" But if nothing happen by Monday, I will be admitted for an induction. They will break my water to kickstart labour.

That's... MONDAY, 20 July, 7.30am

I can't believe it's happening....

We're gonna see Megan soon!!!!

Getting sooooo excited.. but starting to feel nervous. I'm happy that John Tee is very pro-natural and he said we will try without epidural first. Zack on the other hand is trying to convince me to take epidural. Oh well.. we'll see how things go. Praying that i will dilate fast enough and wouldnt die from the pain.

And my darling Megan is such a good gal! She managed to stay in there til 38 weeks.. and let mummy watch Harry Potter before she comes out ;P Zack and I caught Harry Potter right after our ob appt.

Now I gotta start counting contractions.. which is getting frequent. Real labour contractions differs from Braxton Hicks in its intensity and frequency. It gets more intense and come on faster. Counting away now!

The Stats:

Gestational Age: 38 weeks

Weight: 2.7 - 2.8 kg

Interesting to know what her actual weight will be.

*praying for a smooth and fast delivery*

.....braxton hicks have kicked in!

it got pretty frequent whole of yesterday, even during the night.
today seems to be better... hmmm......
the prelabour symptoms seem to be yo-yoing quite abit.


when are you coming out sweetheart?

Today doesnt seem to be the day our little darling wanna come out....

We have reached full term!!!
Today we are officially 37weeks 4days :)
Megan is well cooked and ready to be served!

But while i had started off with quite abit of braxton hicks and cramps.. they have since eased off. Strange. They should be increasing. Maybe i should go back to work, she will be out in a week definitely.. haha. All that stress will surely get her out.

what are my other symptoms:
:: Edema

Edema had set in.. stubby fingers (no more rings *sobs*), sausage toes, fat ankles, and rounded cheeks. Oh the dreaded water retention... *sigh* My only consolation is that my nose had not gone red and fat (yet?).. i hope it stays this way!

:: Braxton Hicks

Had it since 27 weeks, which is common for me. But it had since lightened up. Actually since i started maternity leave.. haha. Only got them more on certain days.

:: Menstrual-like cramps

Had that on some days which got me worried that labour is on its way.

:: Increase in discharge

This is one of the prelabour symptoms but it also doesnt mean labour is right behind.

:: Dropping (Engaged)

She is engaged now! In other words, settled down into the pelvic cavity and all ready to come out!

Getting really excited now.. and quite nervous!!!
i'm only starting to be ready to get the road on the show :P

maybe cos the house is mostly ready - clean and tidy (at least the main areas.. haha)

Zack is now pestering me to eat pineapples so she will come out. That's a home induction method.. haha. I had my first serving of coconut last week. Gotta take once a week.

Havent decided whether to take epidural for labour.
Zack is now asking me to go for it but i really wanna do it drug free.

But he said taking epidural helps the dilation to progress faster and also bcoz he doesnt wanna see me in pain (hahaha.. yeah right). So now i'm in a fix. If it helps in dilation, which quickens the 1st stage of labour (the longest stage), i might consider going for it. Dilemma... dilemma! We'll see how things pan out.. i'm praying i will dilate quick so i dont need to take any drugs.

We have also booked our hospitalization package.

Decided to go for A class, single bedded. So Zack can be there throughout. He left it up to me but i know he wants to stay over with us :) I want Megan to room-in with me. So now Zack will be there during the feeding and bonding process :) Due to H1N1, KKH is very strict on visitors. Only 2 visitors and strictly during visiting hours. So if we chose B class, he can only come during those timings, which is so sad...

So i think we are pretty much set!

Our next ob appt will be this thursday (16 July) and John Tee will check my cervix for dilation and effacement. Maybe i'm already dilated!!!!
