At 7m 6d.....

5.30pm
Megan pulled herself into a standing position!!!

Twas after her afternoon nap and she woke up all cheery and energetic. Bouncing on her fours in her cot. Little hands placed themselves on the cot rail and she stood up on her knees. Zack and I started to cheer her on as she did it over and over again. To our amazement, she suddenly extended 1 leg.. then the other and was standing! Our hearts stopped and we looked at each other, momentarily speechless. When we found our voice.. "Did you see that?! Did you see that?!! She stood up!!!" *beams* 2 proud parents grinning like idiots.. haha!

We praised her to the high heavens (gold olympic medal!) and encouraged her to do it again. But guess she got distracted over our excitement.. hahaha!

We'll try again today alright sweetheart? Show Godpa Ben & Aunty Val when they come over later *muaks* :)

Megan is 7 months old today!!! :)

It Has Begun......

......the HOME WRECKAGE!

Tiny fingers found a gapping corner and peeling it out.. bit by bit.

*shake head*

But i noticed something else...

Megan has the 'pincer' grasp! - picks things with finger and thumb

An advanced skill for 8 month olds!

Why is Megan crawling so urgently for???

Ahhhh.... her milk!
She gets very excited when she sees:
1) Her milk
2) Pappe

She has been crawling after Pappe and grabbing her the few times she caught her.. hahaha.. Poor pappe had lost quite a few fur! It's hilarious! - not Pap losing her fur of crse! Today Megan crawled all the way to Pappe's food and water bowl while I was in the kitchen - she is getting so fast! I managed to catch her just sec before she dip her fingers into the food.. Aiyoooh!

MEGAN'S PLAY....

Look how well she is bearing her weight on her legs *beams with pride*
She is a really good crawler!
She is crawling after Pappe now..hahaha!
i'm trying to do a vid of it..
And is already doing the advanced crawl called the 'cross-crawling' - moving one arm and the opposite leg together when she moves forward, rather than using an arm and a leg from the same side. Many babies start with the commando crawl, mostly using the arms. Average age for babies to do the cross-crawling is at 9-10 months. Megan mastered it at 6.5 months! :)

So now that Megan has mastered crawling...
She has learnt to pull herself up!
For the past week, she had started to do just that.
Sometimes I find her on her knees and hugging the giraffe (see background) on her exercise mat.. hahaha! So cute!
So Daddy bought her this breakfast tray which is the right height for her.. to pull herself up :)

Now see why I'm always so busy all day...
My eyes gotta be on Megan CONSTANTLY!
She is really moving fast..
Left her with Zack on the bed while i did the dishes.
He didn't know what a speedy gonzalas his daughter is and left her on the bed while he went to brush his teeth. Less than 7secs... she crawled off the bed! Thank goodness our bed is a platform bed so she didnt hurt herself.

Gosh... I can talk about Megan ALL DAY!
hahahaha!
This afternoon, the 3 of us were lazing in bed. Zack and I were playing with Megan and she was grinning at us. It was such simple pure joy. Was thinking how precious it is that we are able to do this.. and everyday, i thank God for this :)

Megan did the MOST heart-tearing thing this morning!

She woke at 8.30am..
Diaper-changed and fed her..
Usually she'd go back to sleep in her cot
Since Zack went fishing early in the morning
I decided to bring her to our room
Tucked her in next to me and she fell asleep minutes after..
I did some reading and fell asleep too..
About 11am she woke up, rolled to her tummy and looked ard
I was half awake.. nearly rousing...
when Megan bent her head down and rubbed her face on my cheek!
Almost like she was kissing me.
she did it many times!
So 'theh'!
I must have been kissing her too often and she was mimicking me.. hahahha!
Oh gosh... I cant begin to describe how endearing that was :)
nose prickled..... :)

Megan loves her pea puree
but she 1st reaction to it was classic!
She screwed up her face and gave a shiver!
I kid you not! hahahaha
She began to enjoy it after subsequent tries..
Her 1st try at apple was hilarious...
After seeing her bowl, Megan was all excited..
Opened her mouth eagerly and got her 1st taste of apple puree..
She widened her eyes and spat it right at my face!!!
Hahahah.. guess she was shocked at the tangy bite of it.
So funny!

we've then moved on to other food.....

So far, we've tried:

:: Peas
:: Carrots
:: Sweet potatoes
:: Apples

On a lazy friday afternoon....

this morning...

Megan sat up all by herself!!!

Was hanging out the laundry when she did that..
grabbed my hp and took a shot!
*APPLAUSE*
such a clever gal! *beams*proud*

I'm so glad for our open concept kitchen!
that's the best thing we did ;)
I can get my chores done and still keep an eye on her.. :)

We taught Megan this yesterday over our late lunch of steamed sambal groupa (which Zack caught!)!

She does it better with Daddy! *pout*

Brought Megan for her jab today..
and doc did some assessment..

6.5 months
Weight: 8.32kg (97 percentile!)
Length: 80cm (90 percentile)
Head circumference: 42cm (50 percentile)

Our roly poly sure is packing on the pounds.. haha. She did seems to have grown chubbier recently, especially after we started her on solids. I have to keep an eye cos above 100, it's obese and that's not good!

Sure looks like Megan got Daddy's tall genes! *fingers crossed* ;)

And Megan was a good good gal... didnt so much as flinch when doc jabbed her! *proud* Zack said she got a high tolerance for pain.

This morning, Megan was so cute! I woke up at 7.30am to check on her. And she was already awake! Having fun on her tummy and crawling about in her cot :) She seems to be enjoying herself so i left her be and went back to sleep.. thinking she will go back to sleep. Woke up an hour later at 8.30am... and Megan was still playing by herself in her cot! :) Such a good gal!!! She was beaming away when she saw me.. *heart melts* The most beautiful sight to wake up to :)

at 6m 2w 1d....

Megan had her 1st MRT/LRT ride!
made many friends... hahaha..
she is definitely more sociable than mummy :P

Brought Megan to Vivo.. just the 2 of us - for the very first time!
She was such a good gal!
In The Train...
Very intrigued in the train..
the sounds, people coming in and out..

Sat her on my lap so she didnt have to be in her stroller for too long. She was excited about everything. Smiles at everyone who talked to her.. So NOT shy.. hahaha. The lady sitting next to me asked me, "Your baby, girl or boy?" Megan was wearing a PINK DRESS. Some people....... *shake head*

While Mummy shops...
She slept!

Woke up halfway through and just enjoyed the ride quietly. Nearing her feed, she started to 'grumble'.. it sounds more like her singing a song.. hahah. That was my cue to find a place to sit. Fed her and just sat her down on my lap to enjoy the sights.. people watch. It was nice :)

On our way home...
She pooped!

Good that we were nearing Punggol so when we alighted, i changed her diaper at the train station. Convenient that Punggol is a terminal and no one was about :P Clean diaper, full tummy... in the lift up to the LRT station - Megan fell asleep :) Just a short nap and woke up while we were in PP. Shortly after, we reached home and it was time to fashion parade! - you'll see later ;P

But i got some pretty good finds at Zara!
Of all i've seen, Gap and Zara's baby clothes are the nicest.
Quality is good.. cotton is so soft!
Just my kind of style for Megan! ;)

(bummed i didnt take any pics of Megan in the train and vivo cos i tot i left my hp at home :( It was only when Zack called me on our way home did i realised my hp in right at the bottom of my bag!)
