in 3 hours.....

........ Zack and i will be seeing our little princess again!!!
it's been 4 weeks and she would have grown double since.
brought forward our appointment from evening to afternoon..
now we can see John Tee at KKH and check out the baby shops there.
my darling sis offer to sponsor little princess's cot.. isnt she sweet?? :)
so hopefully we can find a nice cheap one..
i'm not gonna let her spend too much!

Gonna go check out KKH's nursery and suites!
Zack asked me if i wanna go for Class A or B.
its really silly how they only have 1 bedded and 4 bedded.
i prefer 4 bedded cos then the cost will be cheaper should *touch wood* there be complications and require c-section and longer hospital stay. Zack said if we go for B Class, he cant stay over with me and he wants to *hugs*:) Well... we'll see how it goes cos i'd love for him to stay with me and i want our little girl to be with me at all times. I'm not sure if we can work things out like this. Zack can go and sweet talk those nurses into it.. he's very good at it! hahaha!

After hearing SGH has a good neonatal ward, Zack wants us to move to SGH! I like John Tee and he is a very reputable OB so i'm not keen on moving. Zack was also only half serious (thank goodness!) and said our 2nd one will be delivered at SGH.. haha, ok i'm game for that.

ok ciao!

*gasps*

someone in the July 2009 Birth Club has given birth!!!
her baby is due mid July.. oh gosh..
but of crse, mummy and baby are doing good. Praise the Lord!

i sure don't reckon our little princess will be out end July as estimated.
she should be early.
Zack said once she hits 37 weeks, she will be ready!
Earlier is good cos the placenta reaches maturity at 38 weeks..
and i'm terrified of cord issues so the faster i get to hold her in my arms, the better!

but i sure am going to miss having her inside..
she was just doing her baby dance :)
her kicks are getting hard mind u.. hehe
and many other new kinds bumps and little pokes..

aaaahhhhhh.... i'm getting big!
its a strange feeling cos in my mind, i'm still in my same old frame.
then i glance at the mirror and get startled.
Zack will happily comment, "You're getting bigger."
hehe.. yes! our little girl is growing!

my expanding belly...

So i did a collection of belly pics.. every 2 weeks, from 18th - 24th week. Did a collage to see the progress. It felt like belly really grew but somehow it didnt looked that way.. haha. How strange! Nevertheless, still got a kick out of seeing the (albeit slow) transformation :P Maybe i'll just do a monthly collage.

Let's play ball!

at 24weeks..

2nd trimester: 25 weeks today! :)

How our princess's growing
Your little grower’s physical proportions are evening out at this point and most of their remaining development will largely be weight gain and lots and lots of nervous system development.

The good news is: if your child is born premature now they’ll be more likely to survive without too much trauma as their lungs began to produce “surfactant” last week, which means their tiny respiratory system is getting stronger with each passing day. Yes, now’s a good time for a minor sigh of relief and a quick pat on the back. All that hard work and conscientious living is really getting your child prepared for a healthy delivery. Keep up the fabulous work mama!

This week they’ll be scootching slowly out of the old breech position and start rotating (already!) into a better position for exit during their birth. Their head and feet are slowly rotating so that the head is pointed down towards the birth canal. Time is short (or really long, depending on who you ask)—just (still!) 14 weeks left before you can go back to being a single-resident human.

How mummy's life is changing
Trimester two is finally almost over, which means you have that one final trimester of pregnancy to enjoy (and suffer through). You could celebrate this landmark passage by purchasing some piece of clothing designed to make your curvy body look as gorgeous and classy as possible... and don’t let the price tag stop you, this is an act of self-love not book-keeping. But before you max out your credit card, remember: you’re only going to get larger, so buy smart.

Speaking of larger, you’re obviously carrying more weight now and your back is going to let you know. Don’t let this get you down or make you feel like a weakling—it all comes with the territory of being preggers. Try to practice good posture—it will alleviate some of the back fatigue as slouching is actually harder on your back. It’s also common for women to experience leg cramps during this period. Go ahead, strong arm someone who loves you into giving you a massage. Or if you're lucky enough to have the extra bucks, head to a spa that specializes in pregnancy massages and get the full-treatment (oh i had a pregnancy massage during our last trip!).

You may have already noticed that your hair seems fuller, thicker, more plentiful and darker-- especially your body hair. There are two basic reasons for this: 1) you're shedding much less (head) hair than you usually do and 2) your body's hormones contribute to the way your body hair is growing right now. Not to worry, all the hairiness will return to normal after you've delivered your baby.

note to me: Call KKH on prenatal class

omg.. i'm such a dodo head! Called KKH for the prenatal class and realised that we should have started them at 16weeks! The next programme starts next month and ends 15 July - it's a 10-week programme!. So i went online to get the registration form only to realise that it was the brochure i had been carrying in my bag since day 1! We got so many brochures and we didnt really read all of them.. hahaha. I just carry them everywhere i go, using them as bookmarks. So now we are barely in time and hopefully will complete all lessons before our little jewel pops out. Nevermind.. learning breathing techniques nearer to delivery will keep it fresh in our head :P

"Little gal.. don't come out til mummy and daddy finished the classes okay? Muaks.. love you..."

Date: 2 April 2009
Gestation Period: 23 weeks
Weight: 534g

We went for our routine ob checkup one week ago. Everything is going well :) Report from the amniocentesis also confirmed all is normal, no chromosomal defects and it's definitely 100%: A GIRL! :) And she was weighing in at 534g! Exactly on the right track (those weekly updates are just so spot-on!).

Now that we're into our 6th month (24weeks).. ob checkups are abit more frequent at 4 weeks interval. Used to be 6 weeks. Guess this is where things get busy in there and we need close monitoring.. haha.

Back to the scan pic.. can you see her profile? Just her head profile - head, nose and mouth. I think she looks like daddy! :P She's my little sweet darling... :) I can't wait to see her!

In another 5 weeks, we will be going for the 3D/4D scan where we can see her features! It's so cool! But havent decide where we're going to get it done. KKH offers it but they only started in Oct 2008 so i'm not too sure how experienced the techs are. I heard other hospitals does it too so we might go check them up.

so how mummy is doing at this stage?

I'm getting big! and hips are expanding.. hehe. Soon i'll really be unable to get my jeans up anymore. And also.. i'm bracing myself to get all puffy and bloated all around :S I don't reckon i'll be the fortunate few who will escape it totally. To be able to last til 6th month, i should be thankful!

Back has also started aching. Cant walk for long before i need to sit down. Zack had to give me backrubs before turning in. I'm quite surprised by the backaches cos my tummy dont seem too big.. can't be that straining right? But Zack said the extra weight is taking its toll so perhaps that's why.

Mummy caught a cold too :( Had sorethroat for a couple of days but my nose started runny yesterday. Today proved to be a stuffy day. Not taking any meds just plenty of good ole H2O. And come this weekend, i'll be sleeping in! Zack can go fishing but i will need my bed ;) Zack tried to get me to stay home to rest today but i gotta come to work. 2 colleagues are on leave, so its left to me to hold the fort. Anyway it's just one more day.. i shall survive!
